Why
Donate?
Our previous seasons were filled with innovative productions
including:
• , August 26-27
This eclectic, free, outdoor extravaganza will showcase the creativity
of the Asheville community. We are encouraging participation from
individual performers, new and seasoned playwrights and local
directors in this collaborative effort. Please join us in Prichard
Park Friday evening at 7pm or Saturday afternoon at 2pm or in
the Courtyard of the New French Bar Saturday evening at 7pm.
• , for World
Aids Day in December. Scapegoat is presenting Most Fabulous
Story Ever Told, by Paul Rudnick. This hilarious play whimsically
explores a creation story that begins with Adam and Steve and
Jane and Mabel. The proceeds from this production will go to Western
North Carolina Aids Project.
Our Upcoming Season is full of innovative and fascinating shows, including Take Me Out, a study of homophobia between men, and Nine Parts of Desire, a story of nine different women in Iraq.
• Workshops- Scapegoat Theater Collective
believes in a holistic approach to the creative process. We will
be hosting community workshops that help foster individual creative
growth. From a mask making workshop that explores character expression
to a regular reader’s theater and free improvisational workshops
that will make the acting experience accessible to all.
Of course creating high quality, revolutionary theater takes
capital. Scapegoat Theater Collective needs your
help to bring exciting, politically relevant, life changing theater
to Asheville. Funding is needed to rent theater space, purchase
the rights to innovative plays, create sets and costumes and publicize.
We need your help! A $500 donation can purchase the rights for
an entire play run. With our creative team, a $50 donation goes
a long way toward creating a set and costumes! To rent theater
space for just one show run costs approximately $3,000. We are
on our way to our $8,000 goal but we can’t do it without
you!
Why should you donate? We know that you care about the quality
of life in WNC and that you understand the essential role that
groundbreaking art has in forming a thriving community. It is
in your hands to ensure the continued vitality of the arts in
Asheville.
Please consider donating $50, $100, $500 or whatever you can.
Thank you for your consideration and your continued support.
Sincerely,
Scapegoat Theater Collective
P.S. Thanks again for helping to create high quality, innovative
